                                  Kovar / Telcasea Alloy / Nilo K / Alloy K (UNS K94610 / ASTM F15)

 

Kovar alloy is a vacuum melted, iron-nickel-cobalt, low expansion alloy whose chemical composition is controlled within narrow limits to assure precise uniform thermal expansion properties.

 

Kovar is made up of 29% nickel, 17% cobalt, .2% silicon, .3% manganese and 53.5% iron. Kovar is known for its low coefficient of thermal expansion. Kovar end uses are usually glass sealing in the electronics industry.

Kovar alloy has been used for making hermetic seals with the harder Pyrex glasses and ceramic materials. This alloy has found wide application in power tubes, microwave tubes, transistors and diodes.

 

Kovar strip: THK 0.05 – 1.0 mm, Width 20-280mm

Kovar sheet: THK 1.0-3.0 mm, Width 280mm

Kovar wire: Dia. 0.1-6.0 mm
