Physical & Chemical Properties 

Appearance: TC is colorless crystalline solid; industry product is slight yellowgreen liquild.  

Melting Point: -60°C.

Boiling point: 218°C.

Vapour Pressure: 38.5mPa (20°C).

Stability:  Soluble in water 722g/L at 20°C, soluble in methanol, Hardly soluble in other organic solvents. Decompose in acid and heavy metallic salt medium.

 

Application 

Metam sodium (sodium N-methyldithiocarbamate) is a fumigant used primarily in agriculture as a preplant treatment to kill soil fungi, nematodes, weed seeds and soil insects.  

Metam-sodium is a new type round disinfectwhich have suffocating efficacy. It is used to kill the hazard increasingly rampancy nematode in soil, including the rot nematode, stalk nematode of tomato, beans, gourd etc vegetables other crop, also kill many fungal disease which is spreaded by soil such as verticillium wilt, root rot weed seed in soil.
