  The pomegranate is a fruit with healthful benefits. both pomegranate skin and seeds can be used  in Chinese traditional medicine in ancient times in China. The recent study shows pomegranate contains high levels of polyphenols. The active constituent that appears to be responsible for its multiple health benefits is ellagic acid. Ellagic acid is a naturally occurring phenolic compound.
