OV Drilling HT-THIN  is a high activity water solution of a low molecular weight polyacrylate copolymer.
 

Typical Application:

OV Drilling HT-THIN   is a cost effective polymeric drilling fluid thinner / deflocculant. OV Drilling HT-THIN is applicable in water based drilling fluids with both low salinity and high salinity. OV Drilling HT-THIN  is a cost effective alternative to lignosulfonate, lignite and tannin based thinners and dispersants.

 

Product Advantages

- A cost efficient thinner / deflocculant for fresh water & low salinity fluids used at temperatures up to 300°F.

- Required in much lower concentrations than traditional additives.

- Functions effectively in lime, gyp and calcium contaminated systems (up to 1000 mg/l free Ca++).

- Enhances and improves the filtration rate of the fluid.

Recommended Treatment

Typical treatments with OV Drilling HT-THIN  are within the range of 0.125 to 0.5 gal/bbl (0.3 - 1.3 l/m³). OV Drilling HT-THIN  can be added directly to the surface of a well agitated mixing pit, but is most efficiently applied by adding through the mud hopper.

Handling

Employees should utilize normal precautions when handling chemical products. The use of a face shield or safety goggles, gloves and apron are recommended when handling this product. In case of eye contact, flush with clean, fresh water and seek medical advice. In case of skin contact, wash the affected area with soap and water. Review the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product prior to use.

Storage

Store in closed containers, at ambient temperatures. Long-term outside storage should be avoided when possible.

Packaging

OV Drilling HT-THIN  is supplied in 55 gallon non-returnable steel drums or 5 gallon plastic pails. 

Additional Information

Caution: Spills of this product are extremely slippery and represent a fall hazard. Spills should be cleaned up immediately. Absorb the product with an appropriate dry powdered or granular absorbant and dispose of the material in a manner consistent with any local, state, or federal regulations.
