On each test strip there is a test area containing reaction chemicals. When blood is applied to this area, a chemical reaction takes place, then a transient electrical current is formed. The blood glucose concentration is calculated based on the electrical current detected by the meter, then the result is showed on the display. The test measures glucose from 20mg/dL(1.1mmol/L) to 600 mg/dL(33.3mmol/L). The test strip is calibrated to diaplay the equivalent of plasma glucose values to allow easy comparison of results with laboratory methods.
Test Summary
1 Insert the test strip, white side face up, contact bar's end first, into the test prot.
A beep will sound and a clock-wise moving dotted lines will appear followed by a flashing drop symbol.
Now you are ready to obtain a blood sample.
2 After obtaining a blood sample, touch the tip of the test strip to the drop of blood.
Hold the tip of the test strip touching the blood drop until the meter beeps.
3 After 5seconds, your blood glucose result will appear on the display and will be stored into the meter memory automatically.
Read Test Result
Press M to turn on the meter. The date and time will appear first.
Press triangle to review previous result.
Resules will be shown staring with the most recent.
When the memory is full, the oldest result will be removed and replaced with the newest results.
Continue to press and release triangle, the control solution result, the consecutive 7/ 14/30-days pre-meal and post-meal
average results will be shown on display in order.
Exit Memory
To exit the memory mode, press M to turn off the meter.
Warning: Alternate site testing(AST)should ONLY be used in the follwing intervals:
1 In a pre-meal or fasting state.
2 Two hours or more after taking insulin.
3 Two hours or more after exercise
DO NOT use AST if:
1 You think your blood glucose is low.
2 You are unaware of hypoglycemia.
3 Your AST results do not match way you feel.
4 You are testing for hyperglycemia.
5 Your routine glucose results are often fluctuating.
6 If you are pregnant.
