Yujiapu ETFE cushions project is the largest single shell project in international with 143m long and 80m wide. This project includes 783 ETFE cushions with different sizes. The difficulty of this project is instantiated in the application of new material, new technology and structure analysis and construction.

The only exposed part of this station is a double helix dome. This dome looks like a beautiful shell and it likes a pearl in Binhai new area. This dome adopts the design of combination of steel structure and membrane structure and using the new fabric-- ETFE –for construction to meet the requirement of energy conservation and environmental protection. Furthermore, it can also reach the effect of rain-proof and anti-seismic.
