2) Reduction of the import customs duty, by comparing SKD/CKD to CBU, it is around a gap of 25-35% at least, this is the profit of your plant. (save 25-35%)

 

3) With SKD/CKD status, you can save freight cost, (however, for some types of vehicles, for example, the mini van and mini bus / bus in SKD, the shipping cost is the not the first important factor, or maybe the shipping charges will be increased, but the duty is lowered down), about 5-10% of the total value. (save 5-10%)

 

4) Spare Parts Trading for after-sales service: a new Profit growth point; while you developing market, you can supply very nice after-sales service by setting up 4S shop with the plant technology supply and our assistance. In general, the spare parts trading takes up arount 30--50% of the total value. (profit 30-50%)

2. What's the conditions of the partner we are looking for?

1) Investment Power Requirement: over 1 million USD for initial investment (for equipments only);

2) Land or Workshop Requirement: over 15000-20000 square meters land including 5000 square meter workshop;

3) Software Requirements: Good Automobile Sales Channel, Familiar with Automobile Industry and Its Business, or Ralated business line;

4) Hardware Requirements on the Import Tariff: this is the most important factor, the difference gap between auto spare part CKD (completely knocked down) and CBU (complete built unit) shall be at least 30-35%, for example, import tariff on CBU is 35%, it must be 5% or zero on CKD.

5) Good relationship with the local government, can get good / preferential policies from the government, or may odtain government orders for the assembly project and the plant, actually, bus is a public transportation industry, the order needs an organization or government to support, this will be a very important factor for the plant's developing and expanding.

4. What is CBU, SKD and CKD?

 

 

As usual, following is the common definition of the three terms:

CBU = Complete Built Unit, i.e. finished automobile

CKD = Completely Knocked down parts . All materials supplied are loose for final welding and final assembly, or raw body shell with all other parts loose and not assembled.

SKD I = Semi knocked down parts. Car body and trucks cabin are unpainted. The engine, gearbox, axles, suspension, driveshaft, steering, seats, tyres, batteries, exhaust system, electrical parts, etc. are supplied as individual units for assembly.

SKD II = Car body is fully painted and glazed. Truck cabin is fully painted. The engine, gearbox, axles, suspension, driveshaft, steering, seats, tyres, batteries, exhaust system, electrical parts, etc. are supplied as individual units for assembly.

 

You must make sure which definition is accepted by your local customs for less tarrif, this is very important !!
