MgO style is cubic crystal system structure of ionic bonding compound, belonging to the NaCl face-centered cubic structure,unit cell contains four MgO molecular,each of the O2-ions surrounded by six Mg2+ions,similarly,each Mg2+ ions also surrounded by six O2-ion,MgO lattice constant a = 0.42 mm.

 

 Using hot pressing sintering process can produce fully dense polycrystalline magnesium oxide crucible and there was no pores, no light scattering,magnesium oxide crucible become transparent ceramics.

 

The main characteristic of magnesium oxide crucible

1,Magnesium oxide crucible have high melting point 2800 ℃. High vapor pressure, temperature of 2300 ℃ in a vacuum, volatile,so magnesium products using temperature limit is under 2200 ℃ in air, reducing atmosphere is 1700 ℃,vacuum atmosphere is 1600 ℃.

 

2,Magnesium oxide crucible belongs to the weak alkaline materials, with good alkaline slag erosion resistance.

 

3,Magnesium oxide crucible in nitrogen atmosphere, magnesium oxide and carbon don't have no reaction.

 

The main application

 

Magnesium oxide crucible can be used for smelting metal crucible or molten metal casting molds, these metals include iron, nickel, zinc, aluminum, molybdenum, magnesium, copper, platinum, cobalt, don’r react with polycrystalline magnesium oxide, in addition, in the atomic energy industry,melting high purity thorium and uranium is very appropriate also.
