The oboe body is made up of three parts. It has 20 air bores in different sizes and such bores are installed with gold plated or silver plated tone keys to adjust the pitch. The tone keys are arranged with a lever structure. When this musical instrument is played with the keys being pressed, the lever structure will automatically open or close relevant air bores in line with the pitch being played.

Q:Key System
This oboe can be supplied with semi-automatic or automatic key system. The former is hard to control. When playing the A5 to C6, the player should press the left 2nd octave key. The lever construction is comparatively simple and the product with such a key system is much cheaper. The automatic key system simplifies the operation methods of the semi-automatic one. The lever structure is relatively precise and the product with such a key system is expensive.
The oboe is a kind of woodwind instrument with ruralism or pastoral style. Its tone quality is sweet and pure as well as has rhinolalia to a small extent. The sound is full of expressive force. The oboe is the most complicated one among the woodwind instruments. Its keys are small and arranged in a concentrated way. The keys are many and are correlated with each other. Thus, this musical instrument should be assembled or disassembled carefully. It is made up of three parts, the upper and lower parts as well as the bell.
Before using the oboe, the player should coat the joint cork with some Vaseline lubricating oil to prevent the keys from deformation during assembly and disassembly caused by the excessive friction force of the cork. When assembling or disassembling this hautbois, the operator should hold the upper part with the left hand and the lower part with the right hand. Meanwhile, the left hand should press up the two key rods linking the lower part. Then, insert the upper part inwards slowly and rotate it at the same time until the upper part reaches the bottom. The upper and lower connecting rods are interlinked with each other.
When holding the musical instrument, the two hands should use the force uniformly and the force should be distributed to all the fingers. The force should be at the moderate level so as to protect the product from possible damage.
