| Characteristics | BT is Gram-positive bacteria bacillus, which will generate oval spore. Facultative anaerobe. |
| Toxicity | Oral Acute oral LD50 for rats: 20000mg/kg. Skin LD50 for rats: >5000mg/kg BTk is highly selective and safe to non-target organisms and human and animals. It is also easy to be degraded and won't be polluted to the environment. |
2.Application
The main content will be toxin protein of parasporal crystal. This kind of insecticidal crystal protein (ICP) will be generated at the last stage of spore growth of BTk.
-When the ICP go into the alimentary canal of larva, the protein will be broke into δ-endotoxin by the alkalicduodenaljuice. Then the midgut will stop working and become paralyzed, its epithelial cell dissociates. The larva will stop eating. Meanwhile, the spore will sprout in the midgut and go into the haemocoel for mass propagation. The insect will die for septicemia.
