The selection of friction stay depends on the window weight and size.
(1). Required bearing load of friction stay = the weight of sash (glass weight+profile weight) x safety factor.
(2). The selection of its length. Generally, the length of friction stay is 2/3 of the window height. For light windows, 1/2 of the window height. For top-hung windows, generally 1/2 of the window height.
(3). The length of friction stay can be referred according to the above two requirements.
(4). The utmost opening angle of the sash is relevant with the selection of friction stay and installation position.
