Similar to the Webster hardness tester, 934-1 Barcol Hardness Tester is a kind of hardness testing equipment that gets the material hardness through the depth caused by pressing the tester into the surface of the sample under the effect of a spring. The deeper it pressed, the bigger the reading is, and then the harder the material is. 
However, barcol hardness tester has 100 scales and its sensitivity is much higher than that of Webster type which has only 20 scales.

Barcol Hardness Tester is so small in side that it is light to carry and pretty easy operate. It doesn't need a support when it is in operation. Users can operate it with one hand from one way at any occasions. 

Barcol hardness tester has a broad testing range; the material with minimum thickness of 0.8mm can be measured. Its effective measuring range is from 25 to 150HBW and the testing results can be converted into the hardness values of Merriam-Webster, Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers so that the result is easy to be proofed.

The 934-1 is used to test the hardness of aluminum and aluminum alloy and it is particularly suitable for replacing Webster hardness testing equipment, which cannot test the thick-walled aluminum extrusions.
