This is lateral move system or linear system. All the machines work in linear movement by motor driven tires to irrigate rectangle area. Unlike center pivot systems, where the area irrigated depends only on the length of the machine, lateral system area is determined by two factors: system length and travel distance.

This system is mainly used for grasses, grains, vegetables, cotton and sugar cane crops. The length can be from 1 span to 18 spans, normally more than 7 spans system is economical. Lateral move system is the only machine which can irrigate all land. In square land, all spans are parallel with the land, no blind angle. The irrigation ratio can increase to 99%.

Water source to fill the machine can be canal, concrete ditch, rivers and pond. It is not allowed to operate the machine without water.
