1-Naphthylacetic acid (NAA), is an organic compound, is a colorless solid soluble in organic solvents. Its structure for the naphthalene position 1 to carboxymethyl substitution. It is an auxin analog in plant growth regulators and is commonly used in commercial hair root powder or hair rooting agents and is used when plants are propagated by cutting. It can also be used for plant tissue culture.
