1. What is ε-Polylysine?

    ε-Polylysine is a homopolymer of Llysine, one of the essential amino acids. It is prepared from a fermentation for process using Streptomyces albulus under aerobic condition. 

    ε-polylysine is found in nature, a material produced by microbial fermentation and combined to a straight chain of lysine which is one of an essential amino acid. ε-polylysine has already been used generally as a food additive in US, Japan, Korea, China and other part of world. In US, FDA has recognized the polylysine as a GRAS material.

4. The Other Application of ε-polylysine

(1). Application in Cosmetic & Daily chemical:

       Makeup and beauty product, toothpaste, gargle, soap, hand washing, wipes,                  sanitary napkins, baby diapers and kitchen cleaning agent, etc.

 

(2). Application in Medical:

       Polylysine is rich in cations, which has a strong electrostatic force with anionic              substance and good penetration to biofilms. So it can be used as the carrier of              grugs. It improves drug efficacy when polymerize with carbamoyl purine, a drug for        leukemia, tumour.In bioscience researches, it's good fusogenic agent used in                electrofusion method.

 

(3). Application in Health care:

      Polylysine can effectively inhibit enzyme activity and fat absorption that reduce the         obesity.

 

(4). Application in Disinfection product:

       Its mixture with ethanol can be used as a food machine washing disinfectant. Its            usage has dramatically increased every year in Japan and Korea.

(1). What is polylysine and how does it work?

                                                                                                                                             Polylysine is simply a chain of lysine molecules produced by fermentation. This chain 

of lysine has a strong charge that attracts it to mold, yeasts & bacteria, attacking these microbes and knocking 

 them out.

(2). Is Polylysine safe?

   Polylysine is 100% natural and extremely safe – safer than the salt on your dinner table (LD50 for Polylysine is more than 5g/kg vs. 4g/kg for NaCl).  It’s GRAS by the US FDA for a wide variety of applications and approved for use in food in Japan in Korea, where it’s been used for over 20 years.

 

(3). How much Polylysine do I need in my application?

  It varies based on your application, condition, and your expectations, but generally 20-250ppm is recommended.  In some applications, Polylysine works best in combination with other preservatives. Our sales staff can give you information specific to your 

application.
