Coating thickness gauge GTS810F measure on ferrous metal

The device uses magnetic thickness measurement method, which non-destructively measures thickness of non-magnetic coating (such as: aluminum, chromium, copper, enamel, rubber, paint, etc.) on magnetic metal substrates (such as steel, iron, alloy and hard magnetic steel, etc.).

a.Magnetic Method (F-type probe)
When the probe contacts the cover layer, the probe and magnetic substrate forms a closed magnetic circuit; Due to the presence of non-magnetic coating, magnetic resistance changes. The thickness of the cover layer can be derived by measuring the change.

Calibration

Calibration methods:

1. Zero calibration
a) Measure on a substrate, screen shows <*.* μm>.
b) Press ZERO key, screen shows <0.0>.
c) Calibration was already finished, and further measurement can be proceed; however, repeating a & b can get a more precise zero point. Note that this device has negative number display for user to choose zero point easily.

2.Two-point calibration

This calibration method is suitable for high-precision and small pieces, hardened steel, alloy steel measurement.
a) Zero calib first (as described above).
b) Measure on a standard film with coating approximately equal to pieces to be measured, and screen shows <*.* μm>
c) Use and key to correct reading to reach the standard value. Calibration is now complete, and you can start measuring.
 Note: Press the or key once will increase/decrease the reading step by step; press & hold a key will change the value continuously.

3.Factory Reset

On power off state, press and hold the μm/mil key, then press the ON button once, and release the μm/mil key. Screen should show "8888", press the ON button again, reset is done and power off.
