The light is tied with the life buoy, and put into a bracket which installed on the wall or rail of the vessel. When the peole who falled into the water are found, the mariner should take the lifebuoy light out from the bracket and throw it with the lifebuoy to the people. When the light drop into the water, its head will be automatically upward, and the light will be ignighting, then we will know the location of people and we can resuce them . 

Remark: 

The light is without batteries, when you use it, you should put 4pcs D cell batteries into the light. And it has to be Alkaline battery.
