ACOUSTIC CEILINGS FILM
YS stretch ceilings are the most effective and technologically advanced way of using new
perforated materials in order to achieve acoustic comfort in the room and make the interior more
attractive.
Waves of sound from the source inside a room are partially absorbed by the perforated stretch
ceilings. The air in the pore holes of such stretch ceiling offer resistance to the sound wave, what partially transfers it into heating energy and, thus, decrease its intensity. The sound wave gets extra resistance in the space between the stretch ceiling and the actual one. Then the vibration of reflected sound waves can also be absorbed by the stretch ceiling and that leads to a considerable decrease reverberation time in the room.
The effectiveness of absorption through perforated stretch ceiling is defined by the following main
factors:
• Diameter of perforated holes
• Distance between the holes
• PVC film thickness
• Distance between a stretch ceiling and an actual one
• By changing those main parameters we can always create the best solution of how we can optimize
the acoustic situation in every room.
