Calcium stearate
Calcium stearate is White powder, insoluble in water, cold ethanol and ethyl ether, soluble in organic solvents such as hot benzene, benzene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethanol and ethyl ether.When heated to 400℃, it will decompose slowly and be flammable. When met with strong acid, it will decompose into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salt, which has hygroscopic
property.
It is mainly used as lubricant and demoulding agent for styrene resin, phenolic resin and amine resin, softening lubricant for rubber products, polishing agent for textiles, stabilizer for POLYvinyl chloride plastics, smoothing agent for paint and enamel, raw material for cosmetics and flour, etc.
