How to use it

1)The green switch is used to turn on the control power and allows setting the desired temperature.

2)The red switch is used to activate the furnace power and heating begins.

3)The green display shows the desired set temperature. It is set by adjusting the up / down blue arrows. Each digit position is set by adjusting the curser, the horizontal arrow. The curser points to a particular digit in order to change that digit.

4)When you have set the desired temperature, you can either wait a few seconds and the cursor will go back to the right most digit, or just press the blue horseshoe symbol for the curser to go back immediately.

5)Experiment with the controls until you feel confident. No furnace power will be applied until the red switch is turned to on.

6)The red lamp will light to indicate that furnace power is active. It will turn on during the heating and then on and off, repeating, once the set temperature has been reached. This indicates that the furnace power is under thermocouple control.

7)The red display indicates the actual temperature of the furnace as seen by the thermocouple. Note that there is a lag between the displayed furnace temperature and the temperature of the crucible contents. Always allow a few minutes Safety and General

Considerations in Preparing to Use the Furnace:

1 Fit the lid handle to the threaded screw on the lid assembly. The lid handle is found in the spare parts bag. The other ceramic spare parts are for any insulator spacers that may need replacement. These insulators are fitted between the furnace body and the metal mesh enclosure.

Sit the furnace on a level, flat surface, such as a sturdy bench and keep the mould close to the furnace, so that you do not have to carry the crucible very far when it is ready to pour into the mould. If necessary, adjust the height of the rubber feet by packing washers under the rubber feet. Alternatively, fit adjustable feet to make the furnace stable and level.
