1)Aniline is an organic compound with the formula C6H7N. Aniline is the simplest and one of the most important aromatic amines, being used as a precursor to more complex chemicals.

2) Being a precursor to many industrial chemicals, mainly used is in themanufacture of precursors to polyurethane.

3)The largest application of aniline is for the preparation of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).

4)The other usages include rubber processing chemicals (9%), herbicides (2%), and dyes and pigments (2%).The principal use of aniline in the dye industry is as a precursor toindigo, the blue of blue jeans.

5)Aniline is also used at a smaller scale in the production of the intrinsically conducting polymerpolyaniline.

1)   Precautions:

Keep locked up.. Keep away from heat. Keep away from sources of ignition. Ground all equipment containing material. Do not ingest. Do not breathe gas/fumes/ vapor/spray. Wear suitable protective clothing. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. If ingested, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or the label. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep away from incompatibles such as oxidizing agents, metals, acids, alkalis.

2)   Storage:

Air and light sensitive. Store in light-resistance container. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Avoid all possible sources of ignition (spark or flame).
