The Remote Control Kit consists of a BRT-690R Controller and a BRT-690M remote control switch that looks exactly like a standard wall mount switch. While the controller is usually installed near a load, the switch can be installed on top of a standard wall box or anywhere on the wall and it can be even detached from its wall mount plate to be used as a handheld device. The kit offers unprecedented freedom of control. With no need for wiring, it is perfect for retrofit.

Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 show the front view and the back view of the BRT-690S remote control switch respectively. It has one OFF button and four On/Off buttons on the front and snap-on notches on the back.

By a quick press on the four On/Off buttons, the loads will be turned on or turned off as long as they have BRT-690R controllers installed and the controllers are paired with the buttons. The OFF button turns off all the loads by one press.

 

Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 show the top view and the bottom view of BRT-690R controller respectively. The unit has a SET button on the top and three terminal blocks for wiring on each side.

Wiring and Installation Guide:

Installation of BRT-690M.  BRT-690M comes with a base plate as shown in Fig. 5 and 4 mounting screws (not shown). The base plate can be installed on top of a standard wall box using the two mounting holes in the middle or anywhere on the wall using the four mounting holes in the corners.

 

Once the base plate is installed, BRT-690M can be directly snapped onto the base plate.

 Fig. 6 shows how to install BRT-690M Remote Control Switch. There are three easy steps:

         Step one:     Use a screwdriver and the screws provided to install the base plate;

         Step two:      Install two AAA batteries into the battery holders and put on the cover;

         Step three:   Attach the switch onto the base plate. 

 

Installation and Wiring of BRT-690R.  BRT-690R requires hot wire and neutral wire for installation.  The ports have terminal blocks and are clearly labeled (as shown in Fig. 4). During installation, the corresponding wires are to be connected to each port and secured in place by tightening the screws of the terminal blocks.

Warning: Please make sure power is turned off before starting installation!

 

BRT-690R can usually be installed in a hidden space because of its small size and for safety reason. The following are two typical application scenes:

Note:  Each BRT-690R controller can be wired to power multiple loads, but the total load power must not exceed the power rating.

 

Operation Guide:

After a BRT-690R controller is wired and powered on, a long beep sound will indicated the controller is set up properly. Then, it’s time link the controller with a BRT-690M remote control switch.

 

Pair the controller with an On/Off button of BRT-690M. Use a pin to press the SET button of BRT-690R twice, the controller will sound a short beep and enter the pairing state. Press the On/Off button of BRT-690M to be paired. Another short beep from the controller will indicate pairing has been established successful. The paired On/Off button is ready to turn on or turn off the load with the paired controller remotely.

 

The pairing between a BRT-690R controller and an On/Off Button of BRT-690M can be removed by pressing and holding the SET button of BRT-690R for 3 seconds. A short beep from the controller will indicate pairing has been removed successful.
