Indolylacetic acid (IAA) is a kind of indole broad-spectrum plant growth regulator with somatotropin activity. 1. It can be used on adventitious root formation, such as tea tree, pepper and so on.

Plant auxins. The ubiquitous natural auxin in plants is indole acetic acid. Indole acetic acid promotes the formation of the top buds of plant shoots or shoots and seedlings. Its precursor is tryptophan. Indole acetic acid is a plant auxin. Auxin has many physiological effects, which are related to its concentration. Low concentration can promote growth, and high concentration will inhibit growth and even cause plant death. This inhibitory effect is related to whether it can induce the formation of ethylene. The physiological effects of auxin are manifested on two levels. At the cellular level, auxin can stimulate the division of cambium cells; stimulate the cell elongation of branches and inhibit the growth of root cells; promote the differentiation of xylem and phloem cells, promote cutting hair roots, and regulate the morphology of callus. At the organ and whole plant level, auxin works from seedling to fruit ripening. Auxin controls the reversible red light inhibition of hypocotyl elongation in seedlings; when indole acetic acid transfers to the underside of the shoots, it produces branch geotropism; when indole acetic acid transfers to the backlight side of the shoots, it produces branch phototropism Indole acetic acid causes apical advantage; delays leaf senescence; auxin applied to leaves inhibits shedding, while auxin applied to the proximal end of the septal layer promotes shedding; auxin promotes flowering, induces parthenocarpic fruit development, and delays fruit maturity.
Application
Indole acetic acid has a broad spectrum and many uses, but it has not become a common commodity because it is easily degraded in and out of plants. Early use of it to induce parthenocarpy and fruit setting of tomatoes, soak the flowers with 3000 mg/L liquid medicine in the full bloom period to form seedless tomato fruit and increase fruit setting rate; it is one of the earliest applications to promote rooting of cuttings. Soaking the base of the cuttings with 100~1000 mg/L liquid medicine can promote the formation of adventitious roots of tea trees, gum trees, tussah, metasequoia, pepper and other crops, and accelerate the speed of vegetative reproduction. 1~10 mg/L indole acetic acid and 10 mg/L hymexazol are mixed to promote rooting of rice seedlings. Spraying 25~400 mg/L of chrysanthemum solution once (under a 9-hour photoperiod) can inhibit the emergence of flower buds and delay flowering. Growing under long-day sunlight, Begonia spp. sprayed once at a concentration of 10 minus 5 mol/l can increase female flowers. Treating sugar beet seeds can promote germination, increase root yield and sugar content.
