About streptavidin
One mole of streptavidin can bind 4 moles of biotin with a high affinity virtually unmatched in nature. SA has been extensively applied in various bio fields, such as ELISA, IHC, TRFIA, quantifying PCR, isolation of single-stranded nucleotide, purification of biomolecule, and monoclonal antibody production as well.
Activity-unrelated sequence is removed to enhance the stability and solubility of rc-SA. One cysteine residue is added to the C-terminus of rc-SA for orientation of covalent bond to the resin.
