Physicochemical properties

Melting point (°C): 236-239 (decomposition); Hydrochloride salt: 202-204 (decomposition)

Properties: pure product is white crystal; the hydrochloride is white needle or flaky crystal with sweet taste.

Dissolution: pure products insoluble in organic solvents, dissolved in water at 25 °C 12.5% (W / V); hydrochloride soluble in water, soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, benzene and other organic solvents.
