Magnesium Sulfate


Molecular Formula: MgSO4·7H2O.
Molecular weight: 246.48.
--White exiguous acicular or oblique-pillar crystal. Smell-less, taste-bitter. Easily efflorescent at dry air.
--Specific gravity is 1.68.
--Freely soluble in water. Slightly soluble in ethanol and glycerin.
Soluble in its own water at 67.5℃.
--Losing 4 molecules crystal water at 70-80℃. Losing all of its crystal water at 200℃ becomes anhydrous compounds. 

Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate is used in agriculture and gardening fertilizer:


It is applied to Magnesium deficient soil, soluble in the water, absorbed by the soil, to make it fertile. As a key component of chlorophyll molecule, it absorbs sunlight, utilizing the light energy for providing food nutrients for plants during photosynthesis, which can strengthen nutrition to increase the output and crop growth. Magnesium sulfate has higher solubility than other fertilizers.
