1. Properties

 White needle crystal. Melting point 225-228 °C (230-232 °C). Soluble in ethanol, chloroform and acetic acid, soluble in dilute alkali solution, insoluble in ether, slightly soluble in boiling water (1g/100ml). Solution of blue fluorescence. Can sublimate.

 Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge.
