Moxibustion is a therapy which treats and prevents diseases by means of moxa wool, the main material in the therapy in the forms of moxa cones or sticks.Chinese traditional packed moxa rolls are used for indirect moxa heat treatment. Range of application:
Periarthritis, lumbar muscle strain, lumbar and leg pain, osteoarthritis, disc bulge, epigastric pain, cold, cough, facial paralysis and dysmenorrhea
Directions:Ignite a moxa stick at its one end and place it two or three centimeters away over the site to bring a mild warmth to the local place,but not burning,for about 15 minutes until the skin becomes slightly red.

Cautions:
Moxa should be only administered under the direction or supervision of a qualified practitioner.
No moxibustion after drink,great shock,fear,too tired and full.
No moxibustion for skin hypersusceptibility.
Operate carefully in moxibustion in avoid of burning skin and the pregnant woman should moxibustion under the doctor's advice.

Application: 

Implement direct moxibustion at the place 3cm away from the skin for about 5-10 minutes; 

Mild moxibustion is executed by moxibustion apparatus fixed at all the parts of human body; 

Parting moxibustion is implemented as well.

Notes

1. Direct moxa, indirect moxa, and needle moxa should always be administered and used under the direction or supervision of a qualified practitioner.
2. Do not leave patient unattended during any moxa use.
3. Do not use moxa on the face, soft skin, or other sensitive body areas. Do not use moxa on infants or young children. Do not use moxa on patients who are not able to detect the sensations of heat or pain (i.e. elderly, patients with nerve damage, etc).
4. When using needle moxa, a protective shield, (i.e. aluminum foil), must be placed under and around the needle to protect the skin from loose or falling moxa ash.
5. When using moxa rolls, the burned ash must be frequently removed by gently tapping the side of the roll against a suitable container. For patient safety, do not use moxa rolls or any moxa product if damaged or cracked.
6. Always ignite stick-on moxa first and then apply to the point. If heat becomes uncomfortable, remove or move moxa to another location. If used incorrectly, redness or a small heat blister may appear after application.
