1. What is glow in the dark powder?
Glow in the dark powder, also known as photoluminescent powder, works by absorbing surrounding light and slowly releasing this light. Products that use this glow in the dark powder can glow in the dark for years as long as they are exposed to sufficient light. Its initial brightness is high. This fades off as long as it is in the dark. Expose it to light again and it starts glowing in the dark again. Though glow in the dark power works when exposed to any kind of light, best light source would be anything that contains Ultra Violet rays in them.
2. What can this powder be applied to?
Actually the powder can be applied to anywhere you want. But most clients apply them to plastic injection molding, paint, glass, ceramic, spinning, ,mosaic, toys and crafts, etc. We have many types of glow powder for you to choose, which are in different colors and with different particle sizes.
3. Is the powder safe for skin?
All our products are harmless to human body. They are non-toxic and with no radiation. So you can use it safely without worry.
4. How much should I use in my products?
It depends on the thing you make. For plastic injection molding, such as toys, crafts or some other components, the suggested appending proportion is 3%-10%, no less than 3% or the glowing effect may be disappointing.
5. Hong long should it be exposed to light?
If the light source is strong enough, such as the sun or other bright lights, exposure for 10-30 minutes is ok. Place it in the dark it will begin to glow for 8-10 hours. For the first hour it reaches the peak light intensity. However with time goes by, it will gradully fade. So after 6-7 hours the light will be faint but in total dark it can still be easily seen by our eyes. Different color powder have different long time effect. Yellow-green is always the brightest and lasts longest.

Some tips may help
Ordinarily, the blackening phenomenon occurs during the plastic injection process caused by the friction between the powder and the screw stem. To avoid the problem, some aspects should be payed attention to.
1. For injection molding, customers should choose the soft glow in the dark powder with small particle size.
2. For the injection machine, customers should choose the ones with old and short screw stem (0.8m was preferred) .
3. If possible to avoid using machines, manual re-mix the glow in the dark powder with solvent is preferred.
4. During the injection molding, try the best to lower the temperature and pressure.
5. Finally, the proportion of glow in the dark powder used during the injection is general 3%-10%. Based on the demanded brightness and cost, customers can adjust the percentage. But the suggested percentage is no less than 3% and no more than 10%.
