Belt-discharge type vacuum drum filter Press consists of a drum rotating in a tank of slurry to be filtered, and a bending roller assembly which filter cloth circling around.
The technique is well suited to fine and sticky solid filtration, which will form a thin layer of filter cake.the belt discharge will help clean the filter cakes better from the filter cloth, washing nozzles will help prevent the filter cloth from blocking by fine and sticky solids.

Installation & Commissioning


Please pay attention to following instructions during installation:


1. Lifting the drum only via installed hooks, not other parts. The rope should not squeeze the drum during lifting process.


 


2. Drum press should be installed on flat concrete foundation and bolted properly. Please refer to drawings for detailed dimensions. Horizontal deviation of tank for installation should be not more than 0.3mm per meter.


 


3. The connection pipe between drum filtration outlet and fixed pipe should be flexible. Pressure between Rotary gas disk and fixed gas disk should be adjusted accordingly via retainer spring to ensure tight seal.


 


4. Overflow outlet must connect with overflow pipe, and install a valve when necessary according to slurry condition in order to control the slurry depth in the tank and make the overflow slurry return to slurry tank.


 


5. Filter cloth installation: wrap the filter cloth (if requested) around the rubber backup filter plates and fixed the end in the slot via polyester rope. Material, thickness and mesh sizes of filter cloth should be selected based on slurry condition and process control. In order to reduce the possibility of off-tracking and folding of filter cloth, filter cloth should be pressed flat before installation.


 


6. The storage tank has to be cleaned before commissioning in order to avoid damage of filter cloth and parts by hard articles. Lubrication and try to start the motor and check if rotating direction is correct. Keep the machine running for half an hour and check if all parts are functioning well before feeding slurry.


 


7. Rotating speed should be adjusted based on slurry condition, process and output capacity demand.


 


Operation Instructions


 


After correct installation and commissioning, please operate the machine based on following process:


1.Start preparation→2. Start → 3. Slurry feeding → 4. Start vacuum pump → 5. Filtration → 6. Stop slurry inlet valve → 7 shut down vacuum pump → 8. Shut down the machine.


1. Start preparation


Before starting the machine, please check and make sure there are no other articles at storage tank, drum, filter cloth, etc.. Filter cloth is properly fixed, lubrication oil are at proper level for all transmission systems. Wire connection of motors are correct and rotating direction is as instructed on the machine.


2. Start the drum


Start the drum motor (adjust the speed from low to high till meeting request), monitor the rotation status. Please shutdown the machine immediately if it is not functioning well or working abnormally.


3. Feeding Slurry


Feed the slurry uniformly and adjust feeding capacity to keep the slurry depth reaching the overflow outlet.


4. Start vacuum pump


Vacuity degree should be adjusted based on slurry condition to reach optimal performance. Vacuum pressure are normally kept at 0.04 to 0.08MPa.


5. Filtration


Monitor the changes of vacuum pressure and water outlet condition, adjust the machine timely and accordingly if not functioning well.


6. Close inlet valve.


Close the slurry inlet valve when you need stop the filtration.


7. Shutdown vacuum pump


After slurry inlet is closed, keep the drum and vacuum pump working until the slurry level is below the bottom of drum; then close the vacuum pump.


8. Shutdown the machine


After the filtration, wash the drum, tank, filter cloth, scraper, etc. to make sure it is clean in order to maintain the filtration effect next time. Shutdown the drum motor after cleaning.


 


Maintenance


 


Proper maintenance is critical to keep the machine functioning well and to extend the machine’s working life.


 


1. After one week of operation of the new machine, please drain the lubrication oil of all transmission parts. Change the lubrication oil every 3 to 6 months after the first time. Please keep an eye on the lubrication status of transmission and bearing parts during regular working process. Transmission system should use 20#--30# mechanical oil, frictional stepless transmission bearing should use lime base grease ZG-1.


 


2. Slurry solid rate should be kept as consistent as possible to avoid affecting filtration efficiency. Adjust the rotation speed accordingly when solid rate changes.


 


3. Please always keep an eye on the moving parts for abnormal noises, loose bolts, jamming, etc. and deal with it timely.


 


4. For safety purpose, please strictly follow the below protocols:


  (1)Non-operational staff should not be allowed to start the machine.


  (2)Lubricating during operation process is not allowed at all times.


  (3)Lifting the protection cover is not allowed during operation.


  (4)Examine and repair on the machine is not allowed during operation process.
