Introduction: 

Stearic acid, octadecanoic acid. Mainly used in the production of stearate: sodium stearate, magnesium stearate, calcium stearate, lead stearate, aluminum stearate, cadmium stearate, iron stearate, potassium stearate.

It is a white powder or crystalline lumps of soapy, its profile microstrip fine acicular crystal gloss; a similar oil micro smelly, tasteless. This product is soluble in chloroform or ether, dissolved in ethanol, almost insoluble in water. Pour this product pour point (Annex VI D) not less than 54 degrees. The iodine iodine value (Appendix VII H) is not greater than 4. The product of the acid acid (Appendix VII H) ranged from 203 to 210. Stearic acid with magnesium and calcium ions generated by the reaction of magnesium stearate and calcium stearate (white precipitate).

Widely used in cosmetics, plastic cold-resistant plasticizers, mold release agents, stabilizers, surfactants, rubber vulcanization accelerators, waterproofing agents, polishing agents, metal soaps, metal mineral flotation agents, softeners, pharmaceuticals and other organic chemicals. In addition, it can also be used as a solvent for oil-soluble pigments, a crayon conditioner, a wax paper polisher, an emulsifier for glyceryl stearate, etc. Stearic acid is aslo widely used in the manufacture of PVC plastic pipes, plates, profiles and films.
