u  WHAT IS BIS CERTIFICATION?

 

The erstwhile Indian Standards Institution (ISI) was established in year 1947 (now Bureau of Indian Standards) with the objective of harmonious development of standardization activity in India. Under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, Bureau establishes Indian Standards in relation to any article or process and amends, revises or cancels the standards so established as may be necessary, by a process of consultation involving consumers, manufacturers, Government and regulatory bodies, technologists, scientists and testing laboratories through duly constituted committees.

 

According to the Indian Parliament's Indian Standards Bureau Act 1986, the Indian Standards Bureau (BIS) is specifically responsible for product certification. It is also the only product certification body in India. BIS has five regional bureaus and 19 sub-bureaus. Regional bureaus supervise corresponding sub-bureaus. Eight laboratories of BIS and some independent laboratories are responsible for the sample inspection during the product certification process.

Since BIS's predecessor, the Indian Standards Association, began product certification in 1955, the product certification in India has a history of 50 years. At present, BIS has issued more than 30,000 certificates of product certification, covering almost every industrial field such as agricultural products, textiles, electronics and so on.

5. CB Report and Certificate Note of External Power Adapter: No acceptance after May 7, compulsory BIS certification

8. Detailed specification of lithium battery (including schematic diagram of protection circuit)

9. Provide discrepancy instructions and apply to serial applications.

Notes: The power cord needs to meet IS302-1, plug and pin needs to meet IS1293.
