Bamboo plywood comes in several forms depending manufacturing process (according to production methods). Vertical bamboo plywood is manufactured from solid bamboo strips laid on edge and laminated together producing a narrow grain look. Horizontal grain bamboo plywood is manufactured with the wider faces laminated together to form the surface. This method of production shows the "knuckles" characteristic in a bamboo in a bamboo stalk.

Bamboo Plywood comes in vertical and horizontal grain with either a natural or carbonized color. Natural bamboo plywood -- just as the name indicates -- is very light and carries its natural color. Carbonized bamboo gets its color from a steam pressure treatment that actually caramelizes the natural sugars, resulting in a honey-wheat or amber color.
