Inert Ceramic Alumina Ball Support Media

Product Description

17% Support Media is equal to Denstone® 57 Support Media, they are the most widely used support media in the world because of their excellent consistence and reliability. Our ceramic balls are manufactured from very high quality chemical-porcelain clay materials, which has quite excellent stability, high mechanical strength and resistance to thermal shock, This makes them all ideal choice for support of all types of catalyst.

Choose ceramic balls

Follow the 2X rule to choose the ceramic balls and filling. Ceramic balls diameters should be double of the supported materials (Catalyst/Adsorbent/or other media).

For examples, for 1.6mm(1/16'') diameter catalyst, the first layer ceramic balls diameter should be 3mm(1/8''); the second layer ceramic balls diameter should be 6mm(1/4''). Fill more layers of ceramic balls should follow 2X rule. Recommend every layer ceramic balls height should no less than 100mm(4'').

Filling ceramic balls

Before fill the ceramic balls, firstly should check the reactor, remove the irrelevant materials. Check the grid, distributor, outlet collector etc, secure install correctly and keep film. Check the sieves, and repair the gaps at joint and broken holes. At the same time, remove the particles and powder which wedge on the grids and sieves, so avoid generating the abnormal pressure drop, and the gas channeling flow. Ceramic balls should be dropped free fall and less than 2 cubic feet height. On the continuous filling ceramic balls, the ceramic balls should be put level and uniform distribution. During the filling ceramic balls, the physical carrying should be minimized.
