Tianshi micronized polyethylene waxes include straight and linear chain PE waxes and modified PE wax products. They are widely used to provide abrasion & scratch resistance, mar and rub resistance, slip, as well as gloss control and anti-blocking properties. PE waxes can be used in coatings & inks, paints, inks, powder coatings, wood lacquers, powder coatings and some other similar fields.

Characteristics and Purposes

Ø  PEW-0221 is suitable for solvent-based flexo inks, and as well as solvent-based gravure printing inks. It can greatly improve the wear resistance of solvent-based inks, and reduces the coefficient of friction of the ink. It has good adaptation with benzene soluble ink, alcohol soluble ink and resin soluble ink.

Ø  PEW-0221 can improve wear resistance and scratch resistance in various surface coatings. In addition to the solvent-based inks, it can also be applied to offset printing ink, plastic, paint, coil coatings, and other fields.

Ø  In powder coating PEW-0221 can increase powder coatings hardness, abrasion resistance and can assist extinction in powder coatings gloss control. And it will not smoke under the 180 ℃ baking process.

Dosage and application

Ø  In different systems, the dosage of the wax powder is generally between 0.5 and 3%.

Ø  Usually by a direct high-speed stirring, it can disperse in solvent-based coatings and printing inks.

Ø  It can be added by using varieties of grinding machines, high-shear dispersing device, and grind mill. Should pay attention to the temperature control.

Ø  Can make wax slurry with the wax at 20-30%; add it into the systems when needed, by which the wax dispersion time can be saved.
