What is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100?
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is a comprehensive, third-party testing and certification system for textile products at all stages of production. The testing for harmful substances is based on a scientifically founded criteria catalogue with more than 100 individual parameters. Textiles can only be certified if all components meet the specified requirements.
What is the Test Criteria?
The internationally binding test catalogue according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is based on scientifically proven parameters and is revised annually in line with the latest legislation and research.
It includes:
Illegal substances such as carcinogenic azo dyes
Legally regulated substances such as formaldehyde, plasticizers, heavy metals or pentachlorophenol
Substances which according to current knowledge are harmful to health, but which are not yet regulated or prohibited by law such as pesticides, allergenic dyes or tin-organic compounds
Parameters such as colour fastness and a skin-friendly pH-value, which are precautionary measures to safeguard consumer health
