Betel leaf shaped as a heart. Betel vine leaves bear varying flavour, aromatic pleasure to sharp biting pungent followed by sweetness in some cases. The quality of drying were assessed for moisture, volatile oil, chlorophyll and color. The oil is extracted from the leaves by steam distillation. Results also revealed that solar dried leaves, followed by shade and sun possessed the best quality parameters in dried products.

Uses:- Betel Leaf Essential oil has been found possessed antiseptic properties. The leaves of Kapoori have Greek and pleasant aromatic flavour. The leaves are reputed to possess laxative and anathematic properties.
