Black tea is made from the tea plant called Camellia sinensis. The level of oxidation provides it a unique color and flavor, which varies from amber to dark brown and savory to sweet. The difference between black and green tea is the way they are processed. During the processing step, black tea is fermented and completely oxidized. Whereas, green tea is not fermented. The caffeine content in any type of tea is often a matter of concern. But as black tea is concerned, one cup of tea holds about half the amount of caffeine found in a usual cup of coffee. In addition, black tea is extremely low in sodium and calories, making it a suitable substitute for those conventional to soft drinks or unhealthy beverages which, also tend to produce strong flavors.
