The UFO beacon D15N is a new generation beacon that loaded Bluetooth 5.0 hardware platform, hidden
push button and MiniBeacon Plus intelligence software.
D15N UFO beacon advertises standard iBeacon and Eddystone (UID,URL,TLM) simultaneously. The user can configure D15N UFO beacon via configuration app BeaconSET+ as well.

What is BLE communication? How does it work?

 

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is a wireless personal area network technology for short distance data transmission. As the name hints, it’s designed for low energy consumption and cost, while possessing a communication range similar to that of the regular Bluetooth.

 

BLE communication consists of small packets of data and broadcasts at a regular interval by Beacons via radio waves. iBeacon standard calls for a broadcast interval of 100 ms.

 

Minor: a more detailed or minute information. For example, this beacon is located in aisle 2.

Tx Power: TX power refers to the strength of the signal that is exactly 1 meter from the device. TX is used to determine proximity of devices from the beacon.

Can iBeacon be used with Android phones?

Yes, but they work in different ways. Only iOS devices regularly scan for BLE signals and wake up the corresponding apps when the devices are in proximity to the beacon. But for Android users need to have the app running on their device (at least in the background) to interact with beacons.

What is a BLE beacon?

It is important to understand the difference between classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy to appreciate BLE beacons. Classic Bluetooth consumes high power and transmits to long ranges, which is suited for Bluetooth headsets and speakers.
