Description

 The "Golden Triangle" area refers to the border zone between Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. The Mekong River flows through the mountains, and there are also basins and river valleys. The "Golden Triangle" is the junction of the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. The jungle is dense, the climate is warm, the rain is small, but the land is moist, the sunshine is long but not dry, the soil

is rich in nutrients and the acidity is small, and the altitude is between 900 and 1300 meters. Because it is the most suitable growing environment for

poppies, it was notorious for producing poppy in the past.                                                           

 

 

In order to fight poverty, reduce deforestation, reduce environmental damage and eradicate opium production, many Thai local and international organizations have workstations or projects in the Northern Triangle Golden Triangle to find “more suitable” farming in these northern highlands. The crop is also grown as an alternative to poppies. The so-called "more suitable" crops must be economically friendly, environmentally friendly, and acceptable to local people in the standards of local and international organizations in Thailand. Therefore, tea planting in northern Thailand was born in this context.

 

             

 

 

Taiwan withdrew from the United Nations in 1971 and subsequently lost diplomatic relations with Thailand. In order to echo the domestic concerns caused by Bai Yang's "Exotic", the government must re-involve the relationship with the Northern Thai army. Through the political transcendental role of the Thai royal family, in the name of King Tai’s “funding”, Taiwan was able to transfer the mountainous fruit and vegetable planting experience of Fushoushan Farm to the mountainous areas of northern Thailand. With this foundation of cooperation, Taiwan will  carry out basic humanitarian assistance and modernization of roads, houses and water conservancy projects, and similarly introduce temperate fruit trees and tea trees, and dispatch them regularly. Agricultural experts provide guidance to improve local life. To date, according to the latest statistics of the Thai Anti-Drug Committee in 2012, the poppy cultivation area in the Golden Triangle of Northern Thailand has been reduced by about 95.1% from the peak of the 1980s. Thai people in northern Thailand have gradually improved the physical environment due to the cultivation of modern facilities and cash crops.

 

        

 

 

                

 

 

In the past, Taiwan’s "exotic army" was turned into a tea farmer. Agricultural workers and experts from Taiwan introduced the cultivation technology of oolong tea in the area where people gathered in the Golden Triangle of Northern Thailand.The tea tree originates from the local tea seedlings in Taiwan, and the whole process is organically planted by ecological farming methods.
