Type Specification


Multilink low pressure filter press is a professional instrument, mainly used for measuring the filtration amount of drilling fluid and make filter cake after filtering. The filter is mainly composed of bracket, drilling fluid cup, pressure reduce valve and measuring cylinder, etc. This filter has the characteristic of reasonable structure, convenient use, accurate measurement, sturdy and durable quality. It has been widely used in the analysis and determination of drilling fluid in oil fields, geological exploration and laboratories.

Multilink Low Pressure Filter Press is the most effective means of determining filtration properties of drilling fluids and cement slurries. All Multilink Low Pressure Filter Press assemblies consist of these items:
1.mud reservoir mounted in a frame
2. pressure assembly and regulator
3. filter paper
4. 25 ml graduated cylinder

Working pressure is 0.69MPa and the filtering area is 45.6cm², as specified in API standard.

Measuring filtration behavior and wall-cake building characteristics of a mud is essential to drilling fluid control and treatment. The characteristics of filtrate, such as oil, water, or emulsion content are also important. The types and quantities of solids in the fluid and their physical and chemical interactions affect these characteristics. Temperature and pressure affect the physical and chemical interactions. Performing tests at both low pressure/low temperature and high pressure/high temperature is necessary, and these testing conditions require different equipment and techniques.

The basic filter press has a cell assembly constructed of stainless steel or aluminum material and includes the required screens and gaskets.


Multiple Unit Filter Press assemblies permit simultaneous running of three to six filtration tests. Each one of the assemblies consists of a frame with the indicated number of complete Stainless Steel filter cells. Manifolds are complete with air hoses, cut-offs and bleeder valves.

The filtration rate is the fluid loss measured in milliliters at ambient temperature and 0.69MPa through a special filter paper for 30 minutes. Wall -building characteristics are demonstrated by the thickness and consistency of the filter cake (the residue) deposited on the filter paper after 30 minutes. The filter cake is measured to the closest 1/32 in or the nearest millimeter.

The low pressure filter press assemblies described in this manual consist of the following items:
1.filter cell mounted in a frame
2.pressure assembly and regulator
3.filter paper, the filtering medium
4.25 ml graduated cylinder, the filtrate receiver

The filter press cell body, top cap, and base cap are constructed of stainless steel. The filtering medium is filter paper that has been especially hardened for filtrate testing.
