Production Capacity
EXTRUSION
IN-HOUSE EXTRUSION ALLOWS LANDON TO SAVE TIME,
INCREASE QUALITY AND EXPAND THE KINDS OF PRODUCTS WE CAN PRODUCE.
We operates an Extrusion facility at our home factory
complex in Taiwan. Many of the bicycle components that
we produce rely on Extrusion to save cost and increase
quality, so we have invested in a purpose-built factory
building exclusively to extrude raw materials for further
processing. At Landon, we are able to extrude very long pieces of varying size which have applications both inside and outside of the bicycle industry.
COLD FORGING SPINDLES
HIGH CAPACITY COLD FORGING AT LANDON IS AUTOMA
TED, QUICK, AND PRECISE TO PRODUCE STRONG
PEDAL AXLES.
The axle is the heart of every pedal we produce. LANDON cold forges axles used in all of our pedals to ensure that the
heart is as strong as it should be for a long life . We have
invested in this key process at each of our production facilities where pedals are made. Our cold forging machines allow us to produce high-quality and durable axles on a massive scale to exact specification, quickly and efficiently
DIE CASTING
DIE CASTING IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF HIGH VOLUME PEDAL PRODUCTION WHERE DURABLE PRODUCTS CAN BE CONSISTENTLY AND COST-EFFECTIVELY PRODUCED
At LANDON Die Casting is the go-to process when the main
priorities for high volume projects are strength and low-cost.
At our factories we have the capacity to die cast millions of
sets of pedals each year. We can also process cast pedals
in any number of ways from, burnishing, to high polishing,
to painting. We can also combine a Die Cast pedal body
with injection molding to create traction pads.
WARM FORGING FOR PEDAL BODY / CARABINER
WARM FORGING CREATES THE HIGHEST STRENGTH ALUMINUM PARTS FOR TOP LEVEL MTB PEDALS AND THE MOUNTAINEERING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY
When the ultimate in strength is paramount LANDON is there with warm forging. We operate a purpose- built warm forging factory in Taiwan dedicated only to the production of high end pedal bodies and safety equipment.
HEAT TREATMENT
IN HOUSE HEAT TREATMENT ALLOWS US TO CONTROL A CRITICAL PROCESS IN THE OVERALL STRENGTH AND SAFETY OF PRODUCTS PRODUCED IN OUR FACTORY
Steel and aluminum parts that must withstand prolonged
high-stress use must be heat treated. No single treatment
process is more important and has the same ability to
effect the overall performance of the part. LANDON has its own in house heat treatment processes so that we can ensure that this critical step is done correctly
CNC MACHINING
LANDON USES CNC MACHINING EXTENSIVELY IN THE PRODUCTION OF PARTS FOR THE BICYCLE INDUSTRY.
LANDON operates over 600 individual CNC Machines in its locations in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam. In our 30+ year history CNC Machining was one of the first processes we undertook, so we have a deep experience in using these
machines to produce bike parts. At LANDON, we operate 3, 4 and even 5 axis CNC mills, as well as specially built machines that help us manufacture to the high standards which we are known for. When called for, we can CNC Machine with an accuracy of +/- .01mm. LANDON proudly uses CNC Machines made by DMG Mori, Okuma, which are capable of self checking for QC to add another level of control to our process.
LIQUID AND POWDER PAINTING
LANDON OPERATES ITS OWN POWDER COATING AND
WATER BASED LIQUID PAINT LINES ENABLING US TO ENSURE A COLORFUL AND DURABLE FINISH
LANDON has options when it comes to products that must be coated for durability, weather resistance, and visual appeal. Both water based liquid paint and powder coating are environmentally friendly ways to add value to the finished piece.
PLASTIC INJECTION
LANDON HAS A LONG STANDING EXPERTISE IN PLASTIC
INJECTION MOLDING IN A VARIETY OF MATERIALS,
FROM SIMPLE PLASTICS TO ADVANCED SILICONES
AND CARBON FIBER
LANDON has been using plastic injection processes for over
30 years and our ability in this area has kept pace with
advances in the field using cutting edge machinery and
techniques to produce virtually any part possible. We can
produce parts in high-volume no matter the complexity.
SURFACE TREATMENT
IN HOUSE ELECTROPLATING LETS US CONTROL AN IMPORTANT STEP IN IMPROVING THE CHEMICAL, MECHANICAL, AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF KEY COMPONENTS
LANDON has invested heavily over the decades in developing our in house
capability to control metal surface treatment. We own our own facility
dedicated to chrome plating (CP&UCP) and electrochemical deposition (ED) coating. These processes are crucial in improving chemical resistance of metals as well as improving mechanical properties like tensile strength, not to mention the striking visuals of chrome plated metals.
PAD PRINTING
THE EXACT APPLICATION OF GRAPHICS TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF ITS OVERALL VALUE IN THE MARKET
LANDON has a well-established understanding of the proper way
to add permanent graphics to complicated plastic and metal parts using the pad printing process. We are able to transfer images and logos to a variety of surfaces no matter if they are flat, cylindrical, spherical, have compound angles, textures, concave, or convex surfaces
LASER ETCHING
CRISP CLEAN AND MODERN GRAPHICS ON HIGH-VALUE PARTS ARE EASY TO ACHIEVE USING LASERS
LANDON is highly experienced at laser etching complex graphics onto objects. Laser etching is a very efficient way to add logos, images and other markings to a variety of objects in mass production.
