NITTO ELECHEMIC CO.,LTD. was established in 1950 as a metal surface treatment

business, applying finishes to the surface of metals to stop them from rusting. Metal

surface treatment is a technique that makes use of metal ions; in other words, minerals.

Since the founding of the company, we have continued to carry out research on these

minerals, and have been looking for a way to apply that know-how for things other than

metal surface treatment.

In 2004, we integrated our business with OS Kenkyujo Co., Ltd., a company carrying out

cosmetics development using the minerals found in hot springs. Then we established the

Nitto Elchemic Health Care Division. While researching the benefits of minerals to the

skin, we have come to understand the structure of the skin and its ingenious mechanisms,

and are carrying out a wide range of cosmetics research and development that transcends

conventional boundaries. 

In today's world, commodities are produced and consumed in huge quantities. While on

the one hand our lives have become richer and more convenient, on the other, the burden

on the environment has become severe. Consequently, companies that make things, like

us, must not only make considerations for the environment, but also ascertain what things

will genuinely be of benefit to society and then develop them. Through our manufacturing,
