Microcapsule technology

 

 

      Microcapsule technology is a technique in which a solid or liquid is coated with a film-forming material into particles having a core-shell structure, and the obtained microparticles are called microcapsules.

The microcapsule phase change material is a novel composite phase change material with a core-shell structure formed by coating a surface of a solid-liquid phase change material particle with a stable polymer film by using a microcapsule technology. Phase change material microcapsules typically have a particle size of from 2 to 15 microns. The preparation technology of microcapsules originated from the actual 50s of the 1950s, and it developed rapidly in the mid-1970s. During this period, microencapsulated products and processes appeared. For example, drugs, enzymes, perfumes, catalysts, dyes and other products are all encapsulated in microencapsulated form.

Phase change microcapsules borrow this technology to disperse the phase change material into spherical small particles, and then encapsulate a layer of stable shell material on the surface to form phase change microcapsules. The technique of microencapsulating phase change materials solves the problems and difficulties in the application (liquid material loss, corrosivity, volume change rate, etc.). The core material of the phase change microcapsule - the phase change material becomes liquid when it absorbs heat, but the outer shell is still solid, so the shape of the material is still solid particles.
