1. Nitric acid separation method

After preliminary manual pretreatment, the gold plating wastes are put into concentrated nitric acid or dilute nitric acid. The base metals are dissolved by heating and filtered to form sheets of crude gold. High quality gold was obtained by purification.

Advantages: Easy to operate and master.

Disadvantage: Strong corrosive acid is dangerous to people, and a large number of toxic gases produced in the production process are not friendly to the environment.

2. Solution of aqua regia

This method is also applicable to the gold plating waste as described in Figure 1. Nitric acid and hydrochloric acid are used to prepare aqua regia in a volume ratio of 1:3. The gold plating wastes to be treated are put into Aqua regia. After the reaction, the aqua regia solution of gold and other base metals is filtered. After heating and nitrate removal, a small amount of metal (such as silver, copper, zinc, etc.) which is more active than gold metal is replaced many times.

Advantages: The method is simple and the steps are few.

Disadvantage: It is difficult to extract a small amount of gold from various metal mixtures, and the recovery rate is low. Work environment is poor.
