Specificity: White crystalline odorless granular or powder. Combustible, can be weathered when expose in the air. Easily soluble in water, light soluble in ethanol, not soluble in diethyl. When heated to 123°C, loss crystal water.

Usage: sodium Acetate pharmaceutical grade is used in the preparation of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis solutions, in the production of insulin and in infusion liquids. Sodium acetate is also used in leather tanning and textile dying, in the photografic industry, as a polymerisation catalyst. Sodium acetate can be used to preserve processed meats and it is often used in combination with other acid based preservatives like lactates and propionates.
