The vacuum bag is the basic element for pressure and vacuum. The bag compacts the laminate and improve the interlaminar adhesion. By extracting the air is possible to avoid loopholes without resin.
Normally the bag is opened by 3 of the 4 ends and closes with the sealing compound or "tacky tape”
