"ridge" blade is made with titanium with natural diamond particles. As relatively soft titanim wears from cutting foods, the diamond particles emerges on the edge of the blade and works like a micro saw.  This mechanism makes ridge's amazingly long lasting cutting performance possible. 

 

You will be surprised of it's light weight when you hold the knife. It is about 40% lighter compared to the same size stainless steel knives. Utility knife weighs 55g and Santoku is only 67g. It is easy on your wrist and comfortable using it for a long period of time.

The blade is mixed with silver and the titanium is antibacterial from the Photo catalytic effect. The blade has strong antibacterial effect. When exposed to the florescent light or UV light, the blade eliminate germs and this effect last  semi-permanently.
