Q: What is Chain Link Fabric?
A: Chain Link Fabric (also commonly known as wire or mesh) is formed by weaving a series of spirals together to make a diamond pattern that is available is a variety of sizes and gauges. The most common is a 2" Pattern (for pool fences a diamond size of less than 2" is required) with #9 gauge wire. The 2" Pattern refers to the mesh size which is the distance between two parallel wires in the fabric.
Q: What if I do not need the entire footage of the chain link fabric?
A: With pliers, open the top and bottom ends of wire where you wish to terminate or remove fabric. Unwind the strand and twist through the links until the wire comes out of the fabric, in a corkscrew manner.
Q: Can you add or splice fabric together to make it longer?
From an end of the fabric, remove a strand of wire. Join the two sections together and wind the removed wire down through the ends, in a corkscrew manner.
Note: a second strand of wire may have to be removed in order to mesh properly.
Q: Does the fabric come in different colors?
A: The chain link fabric come in black, green, and white vinyl coating and so on.
