Blackout roller shades are available in vinyl and fabric materials. All fabric blackout roller shades have a vinyl backing to block out light and ensure full privacy. Depending on the mounting, there may be light gaps on the sides of the blackout roller shades.

A: Depending on where you mount your roller shades, there may be light gaps on the sides. The material for the roller shades is approximately 1 1/4" narrower than the mechanism, which can result in small gaps on both sides of the shade when mounted on the inside of the window.
